Show cancellation.

Sorry for the late notice but my performance at the 331 club tomorrow night (opening for The Fontanelles) has been cancelled.

I’m nursing a horrible sore throat and want to:

1. Not blow out my voice.
2. Not sicken the audience with whatever is making my throat burn like a super nova.

I definitely encourage all of you to head out to the 331 tomorrow night to hear the Fontanelles, because:

1. Their lead singer, Dave Mehling, has a powerful, healthy voice.
2. They aren’t stricken with Throat Death.

Additionally, they’re just darn fun to listen to… a great band. You can check them out here: The Fontanelles

Because visual evidence is always more compelling, here is a picture of me as I write this blog:

It’s after 1am and I’m waiting for my laundry to finish drying. There’s a Colbert re-run on the television, my cat is hopping about in his nocturnal revelry and I’ve got one more load to go before I can call it a night.

Tomorrow morning I head out of town for the weekend, but before I go I want to make sure to let everyone know that I’ll be performing this next Friday night, the 20th, at the Beat Coffeehouse in Minneapolis. I haven’t played the Beat before, but I’ve heard good things.

The Smarts and the Humbugs are playing before me (7pm and 8pm, respectively). I can personally vouch for the Humbugs, as their lead singer is Adam Marshall and he’s a royally strong songwriter. The Humbugs latest album is in my car and gets regular play. The Smarts are a band I know next to nothing about but Adam tells me they’re good. I believe him.

So — if you’re free next Friday night, and you’re in the mood to hear live music, come on out to the Beat Coffeehouse in Minneapolis and enjoy the show. I take the stage at 9pm.

I hear the buzzer on the dryer now, so its time for me to split.

See you next Friday.

Another exciting milestone in the short life of my debut album Spellbound Way… it’s now available on Itunes!  Get out there and buy a copy of the record if you haven’t gotten one already. Or, if you’re in the money-saving mind these days (I know I am), find a couple of tracks you enjoy and just download those.

I hope everyone is well as the winter approaches.
